Just off Sunset Boulevard sits Cherokee Avenue, home to a gaggle of burnouts and stoners who stumble ass backwards into a psychedelic concoction that rips a hole in their reality, drawing the ire of a hyperdimensional ultraterrestrial hell bent on unleashing cosmic chaos.
Joe here - I'm writing the description alone because our dear friend David has gone missing. Said something about going on a canoe trip in the Appalachian mountains. Haven't heard a word since.
Anyway, A Cherokee Night is a loveletter to my crazy neighbors and the multiverse of misadventures we threw ourselves into on a near-daily basis. The short is based on semi-TRUE EVENTS! No foolin'. We shot the short for ostensibly a few hundred bucks in a cramped studio apartment over the course of 2 horrendous nights. Actors were drunk, special effects weren't working, and we could only survive off hot dogs. Yep, gonzo filmmaking at it's finest. We hope you enjoy A Cherokee Night or at least hate it so much that it ruins your life.
Love, Joe Martinez-Weinberger
